For many families in Mitchell’s Plain, seeing a doctor has meant long queues, multiple appointments in different suburbs, and weeks of waiting between a consultation and a diagnosis.
Watergate Medical Centre was designed to close that gap. Consultation rooms, chronic care, occupational health services and on-site diagnostic imaging sit in one purpose-built facility, so clinical decisions can be made in hours rather than months.

Shannon Baxter is a patient-centred Physiotherapist who combines clinical reasoning, curiosity and a strong focus on function to provide personalised, meaningful rehabilitation. Shannon looks beyond the presenting symptoms to understand the person as a whole: their goals, environment, challenges and the activities that matter most to them. Shannon’s approach is thoughtful, practical and collaborative. She enjoys working through complex clinical presentations, continually questioning and refining her clinical reasoning to ensure that treatment is both evidence-based and relevant to each individual.
For her, Physiotherapy is about more than treating an injury or impairment. It is about helping people regain confidence, independence and the ability to participate in the lives they want to live.

Watergate Medical Imaging Centre provides digital diagnostic X-ray services inside Watergate Medical Centre in Mitchell’s Plain. We serve private patients, eligible medical-aid patients and appropriately referred patients from Watergate, Mitchell’s Plain, Philippi, Delft, Mandalay and nearby communities.
Digital Diagnostic X-Rays
Digital X-ray imaging for clinically required examinations, subject to appropriate referral and patient assessment.
Child, Adult and Accessible X-Rays
X-ray examinations for babies, children, adults and older persons. Spacious rooms support wheelchair access and patients with mobility needs.
Occupational and Travel Medical X-Rays
X-ray imaging for occupational and pre-employment requirements, plus chest X-rays requested for immigration, visa, seafarer, cabin crew, aviation, flying and diving medical requirements.
REFERRALS AND BOOKINGS
Patients and referring practitioners can contact the imaging reception for booking guidance and referral requirements. Please bring your referral and relevant medical documentation where required. Tell the radiographer if you are pregnant or may be pregnant before your examination.
